The versatile platform for assay automation
Xiril liquid handling robotics provide the ideal platform for the automation of a broad range of routine applications, ranging from simple pipetting tasks through to sophisticated isolation processes or assay development.
The most common separation techniques, automated magnetic bead separation and vacuum extraction, are the basis for the isolation of intact, high quality nucleic acids, proteins, cells or other chemical substances. This step is key to most molecular biology or analytical applications including PCR, sequencing, micro-array applications, genotyping, immuno assays, metabolism studies and many more. Automation of the process saves time and labour allowing users to focus on experiment planning and data analysis.

Magnetic Bead Separation
Various magnetic bead techniques are available for molecular biology applications involving separation, isolation and manipulation of biological material (DNA, RNA, proteins or cells).
Reagents and protocols for nucleic acid extraction and sample preparation or PCR and sequencing reaction purification are readily available from different manufacturers.
Vacuum Extraction
Automated vacuum solid phase extraction (SPE) is well established and beneficial to increase throughput and produce consistent and reproducible results for numerous separations tasks in the genomic or proteomic lab.
